Back in 1998, my parents went for a full checkup because of a new life insurance policy. In that blood test, things were good for the most part, except for their cholesterol levels – both of them had “high” levels.
I don’t remember the exact numbers, but my mom’s cholesterol was about 245 and my dad was 222. I just remember my mom’s was higher.
So immediately, both their doctors prescribed my parents’ cholesterol-lowering “statin” drugs (Lipitor & Zocor).
Of course, back then we didn’t know about all the negative side-effects that we know of now – such as:
- Muscle pain and damage, leading to muscle loss
- Joint pain and arthritis
- Liver damage and kidney problems
- Increase blood sugar and type 2 diabetes
- Neurological side-effects such as memory loss, confusion, dementia and even Alzheimer’s
- Etc., etc.
The truth is, at that time I didn’t know much about these drugs – nobody did. They were new.
But they sounded great.
So my parent’s started taking these statin drugs and we all felt good about it. Well, except that over the next few months, the negative side-effects started.
My dad had muscle weakness, loss of strength, and high blood sugar levels, which also lead to high blood pressure.
My mom had super dry skin, became very forgetful, and had joint pain.
BOTH had elevated liver enzymes.
Anyway, to make a long story short – I got them off the drugs because I knew these problems were only going to get worse as they age and the longer they use the drugs.
I then researched everything I could about this topic – causes and solutions.
So the first thing I did was I put them on a super strict diet and daily exercise plan.
We then did more blood tests and the good news is that their cholesterol did improve – but, not by much.
Certainly not enough to justify the super strict lifestyle they had to follow.
So I dug deeper into the research to see what were commonalities between people who had high, low, and “healthy” cholesterol levels — both in the US and around the world.
And what I discovered was very interesting.
First of all, 80% of your cholesterol is made internally by your LIVER — and NOT from the foods you eat. This explains why the change in diet for my parents didn’t make dramatic improvements in their cholesterol levels.
Secondly, the real cause of high cholesterol is genetics and most importantly, the negative changes in your hormones due to aging!
And this made total sense.
This is why young people can eat junk and not have any problems. Their youthful hormones and better absorption of nutrients naturally cleanse and detoxes their body of excess cholesterol.
Of course, you can’t change your genetics or turn back your age to have all of those youthful hormones of a 20-year-old.
So, improving your diet, exercising and so forth is great – but for most people, it’s just not enough.
And this is exactly what my own parents had to deal with.
However, when I gave my parents specific nutrients that an “aging” or “mature” body needs, their cholesterol levels dropped quickly and their lipid levels improved dramatically.
And this is because their body was now healing itself from within, because of these key nutrients scientifically proven to promote total cholesterol health and improved lipid levels.
Remember, your body is a SELF-cleaning, SELF-healing organism… as long as it gets what it needs to do its job — nutrients, rest, etc.
With that said, if you’re looking for the “most powerful” solution for improving your cholesterol levels – I suggest you read the article about how my parent’s lowered their cholesterol by over 30 pts in about 30 days.
Again – NO change in diet, exercise, or lifestyle.
More importantly, you can copy and use the SAME formula and get similar, cholesterol-lowering benefits for yourself.
