Be sure that whether you are having cleanse professionally done or with at-home products that everything is sanitized first before you use it.

2. Carcinogens
If unfiltered tap water is being used, there is a chance of introducing a cancer causing chemical into your colon. Unlike drinking the water which would be subject to the acid in the stomach destroying much of this chemical, the colon has no such protection. Be sure that the water used is purified and not tap water otherwise you run the risk of contracting gastrointestinal tumors.
